My husband breed Norweigan Forestcats under the 80's and 90' and therefore always been keen on the semi long haired cats. We extended finally our family in the fall 2008 with this wonderful cat. Instead of an Norweigan we fell for a Maine Coon. His breeder Marika Olofsson (Månegarm's) was looking for someone that was interested in taking him in and show him at cat shows and since we are already doing that with the other cats he was a fact. More wonderful cat than him I never seen. When he was young he ran around trying to be a Aby. This means a lot of items fell down on the floor and of course broke because he thought he was just as grazeful as the Abys but with his size he couldn't ran the window post without taking everything in his way with him :-)
Now when his older his more like the cat we heard Maine Coons should be. Taking it more slowly, talking load with a purring sound when he wants something like be petted. There are big differences between the two breeds we got but they work together and we highly recommend both together.
Vargtass favorite toy is the laser pointer (like most of our cats) or if we put something on the table he just have to put it on the floor. It's almost like an obsession for him.
During 2009 we showed Vargtass at some Cat Shows and he did so great that he is able to compete together with the Abyssinians and Somali cats in AbSolut Kattklubbs yearly show competiton where he placed himself on fourth place as adult and he attended shows as neutered as well and there he ended up on 11 place with only two results.
